Arcadia Pantiles South Witham
Arcadia Pantiles look stunning on this cottage in South Witham cottage
The Arcadia pantile roof on this attractive cottage in South Wiham had reached the end of its natural life.
Unfortunately, the existing pantiles couldn’t be reused as they had worn out and perished beneath the moss.
Once our team had stripped away the old pantiles, they could insulate the roof using Celotex and Rockwool, a combination that provides excellent thermal performance.
The next stage was to repair and replace any roof timbers damaged by leaking rainwater. We then levelled the roof rafters with tanalised timbers before the new breathable membrane, and battens were fixed in place.
Finally, our experts laid the new set of Arcadia pantiles. Each one was carefully attached to the new battons using alloy nails through the nib of the tile. To complete the new roof, we also installed corresponding ridge tiles.
The picture below shows the roof’s state before we started work and above the new roof in all its glory.
